Some of the CSAG were invited to visit a Statera BESS site in operation. The sound in the background is from the inverters. These are in open-sided containers but we were assured that for the scheme at Granborough, the inverter units will be fully enclosed, and we will not have that level of noise….this is just 15 containers so what level will it be with 888 even with them enclosed!
Try to picture the visual impact of 888 containers. A prison camp environment comes to mind with PIR (motion sensor) security lighting. An industrial landscape. What wildlife would want to live there?
These BESS installations are the dread of someone like myself. My hobby is amateur radio and should one of theses installations be situated near my location here in Calvert Green I would now longer be able to enjoy the hobby I have enjoyed for over 40 years. The inverters they use radiate more High Frequency RF noise than any other piece of industrial equipment I am aware of. They are also not environmentally friendly.
