- I am wholeheartedly opposed to this development for numerous reasons, including – but not limited to – the following:
- The destruction of farmland that is producing crops – and ultimately our food – is unacceptable
- The impact on our open countryside, the environment and its ecosystem is unacceptable.
- The local road network will simply not be able to cope with the amount of construction traffic that will be associated with this project.
- Solar is the most inefficient form of energy generation. During the winter months in the UK, when our nation’s demand for energy is at its peak, solar is totally inadequate and does not make any significant energy contribution.
- The degree of noise pollution that will be generated by this project will be completely intolerable for local residents. This applies to both the construction phase and during its ongoing operation.
- Having to endure more than 2 years of daily construction work – from 7am to 7pm – is not why we chose to embrace the peace and quiet of the countryside.
